The Northview Knights got a pre-sectional look at visiting Plainfield on Thursday evening and came away with eyes wide open following a three set loss to the Quakers.
Plainfield took a 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 decision over the Knights whose hitting and service game were held in check.
Lindsay Thomas had just 19 assists for the Knights and Lottie King was held to just six kills in the contest with both Christy Fulk and Brianne Arvin adding five apiece. Heather Palmer contributed three kills with Kaley Huffman added two.
At the service line, Thomas had five points with Huffman adding four with a pair of aces and Fulk had three points with one ace in the match. Kyler Clark had three with an ace and Fulk lead the way with two blocks.
The Knights drop to 27-4 overall and will face the Quakers at the Plainfield Sectional in the opening game on October 22 at 6 p.m.
In the junior varsity game, the Knights lost a three game set, 20-25, 25-24, 11-15.
Ali Melega had three blocks and a kill and Katie Timberman added four blocks with five kills for the Northview cause. Cari Laue chipped in with four points and five kills as Mallory Heffner added four points with three aces. Emma Koehler had 13 assists, seven points and three aces and Chelsea Mershon added five blocks and Hannah Emmert had five points with four kills.
