North Clay's eighth grade basketball team put on an impressive offensive display in the first half versus Chauncey Rose on Monday night, taking a 51-17 victory over the Royals.
The Knights ran out to a 15-3 first period advantage on the strength of nine points from Justin White and then Clay DeWeese poured on another 13 points in the second period to seal the deal early.
In the second half the Knights were able to spread out the playing time as they cruised to the victory.
North Clay shutout the Royals in the second quarter in pulling out to a 32-3 lead at the break and in the second half the Knights got nine points from Kyle Hughes and eight from Scott Wheeler to advance to 2-0 this season.
DeWeese led the squad with 16 points, all in the first half, and Jonathon Bradshaw, Drake Stevenson and Wheeler all had eight points.
In the 'B' game, the Knights earned a 24-18 victory led by six points apiece from Jordan Allen and Wheeler.
Caleb Mason added five and Hughes chipped in with four points with Caleb Andrews adding two and Jesse Shepard had one.
Next up for the Knights will be a Thursday road contest with Owen Valley at 6 p.m.
