North Clay boys shut down visiting Owen Valley

The North Clay eighth grade basketball team improved to 3-0 this season with a comfortable 42-24 victory over visiting Owen Valley on Thursday evening.

Jonathon Bradshaw heated up in the second half, scoring 13 of his game-high 18 points after halftime as North Clay pulled away for the victory.

The Knights got off to a slow start in the game, trailing 6-5 after one period but got untracked in the second by outscoring the visitors 15-7 and wouldn't trail again. Justin White had six of his nine points before halftime to help the cause and Clay DeWeese added another nine in the victory.

Drake Stevenson had four in the win and Scott Wheeler added two.

In the 'B' game, the Knights put six players in the scoring column to win 37-20 over the Patriots.

Wheeler led the way with 10 points with Caleb Andrews scoring eight for North Clay. Caleb Mason added seven in the win and Trent Sims contributed six, Jordan Allen four and Kyle Hughes had two.

Next up for North Clay will be a road trip to West Vigo on Tuesday night for a 5 p.m. game.
