Pairings set for Pizza Hut Classic

Thursday, December 1, 2005

Northview will be taking part in the Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic for the fourth time in five years this December's holiday season. On Tuesday they found out that they will be taking on the Greencastle Tiger Cubs in their opening round game on December 27 at 1 p.m.

The game will be a bit of a preview of sorts as the two teams are slated to square off in the final game of the season on February 14.

The Wabash Valley tournament includes 16 teams with Owen Valley and Crawfordsville new to the tourney this year, replacing Eastern Greene and Shakamak from last year.

On the first day, West Vigo and Owen Valley will be the opening contest at 10 a.m. followed by Crawfordsville vs. Rockville and the Knights game versus the Tiger Cubs.

In the second half of the afternoon, the Terre Haute South Braves will take on Bethesda Christian with Riverton Parke and Marshall in the next game. The host school, Terre Haute North is slated to take on Sullivan followed by the evening's final game, Turkey Run against South Vermillion.

Tickets are now available at the high school bookstore or athletic office for the Wabash Valley Pizza Hut Classic basketball tournament.

The tourney is Dec. 27-30 at T.H. North High School.

Season tickets for the tourney are $14 and will be $5 a day at the door.

They will be on sale until Tuesday, December 20 at noon during school hours.

The Knights play Greencastle on Tuesday, December 27 at 1 p.m.
