The North Clay eighth girls basketball team upped their season mark to 7-2 with a weekend victory against Sullivan, 32-12.
The Knights struggled with their shooting from the field and the free throw line (12-of-41 FG, 8-of-24 line), but their defense was even stronger in stifling Sullivan.
Brooklyne Myers had a strong game for the Knights, leading the squad in scoring with 12 points on Saturday, hitting six-of-eight fieldgoals in the contest. Carlee Bell was also efficient from the field, hitting three-of-four shot attempts on the way to a nine point game and also added a team-high five steals.
Shelby Sands had a balanced effort for North Clay, pulling down nine rebounds and adding five points in the victory. She also had three steals in the game. Ali Sharton didn't score in the game but her effort was invaluable in the win, grabbing four rebounds and four steals.
All told, the Knights had 17 steals on the defensive end.
