Tommy Holifield (left) earned a pin in 37 seconds against Tri-North on Monday night to improve to 2-1 on the season.
North Clay's junior high wrestling team earned four falls in a Monday dual meet with Tri-North, but it wasn't quite enough in a 61-46 defeat.
The Knights dominated the middle weights in the meet, getting back-to-back pins at 115 and 120 from Ezra Brashier and Brandon Mikesell.
Brashier pinned Ethan Barrow in 2:58 and Mikesell followed with a pin in just 54 seconds over Tristan Risper.
After Tri-North got a fall at 125, North Clay responded with a Broc Potter decision, getting an 8-1 victory over Garit Goldman at 130 before Conor Strain got a pin over Colt Hiddit in 1:57.
Tri-North would get back on the scoreboard at 140 and 145, getting forfeit points and a pin before North Clay came back to get a big overtime victory from Jordan Nelson, 9-4 over Travis Roberts. Tommy Holifield followed the decision with a quick, 37 second pin against Andy Smith.
In the lower classes, the Knights got points from Caleb Nicosin, a 9-0 winner over Jimmy Colls and forfeit wins from Nick Coltharp and Trent Montague.
The key to victory for Tri-North was a three match winning streak to close out the upper weight classes and a five match streak between 90 and 110 that helped them squeeze out the victory.
Caleb Nicosin, Brandon Mikesell and Conor Strain all remained unbeaten this season with their third wins.
