The North Clay eighth grade girls basketball team improved to 13-3 on the season with a 37-27 win over Clay City Thursday evening.
The Knights got a 16 point, seven rebound night from Emily Phillips and seven points and nine boards from Shelby Sands to earn the win.
Using a 15-5 advantage in the second period, the Knights pulled out to a 23-9 lead at the halftime break and then held off a small rally by the Eels to get the victory.
Also for the Knights, Carlee Bell contributed six points and four rebounds while Kelsey Searing pulled down six rebounds with two points. Ali Sharton added two points, two boards and four steals. Brooklyne Myers added four points.
Next up for North Clay is a game against Owen Valley on Tuesday evening.
