Wabash Valley Club heads to Iowa

Five members of the Wabash Valley Wrestling Club coached by Northview High School's Dan Mikesell and assisted by Rob Pasalich, are headed to the USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals in Cedar Falls, IA this morning.

Keiontre 'Trey' Wilkey (3rd grade), Brandon Mikesell (7th grade), Beau Pingleton (10th grade), Tommy Herr-Smith (10th grade) and Zach Stultz (10th grade) will compete on Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament is open to all 50 states and has over 100 wrestlers pre-registered to participate.

Wilkey, placed fourth at the Folkstyle state tourney in Huntington, IN on March 18 in the 55 pound division. He is also in his first year of wrestling. Pingleton was seventh in the 130 pound class in the state tourney and Herr-Smith was eighth at 160 pounds.

Jacob Hendrich, age seven, was second in the bantam age division but will not travel to Iowa and Caleb Nicosin, age 12, was third in the school boy division.
