Northview's golf team tuned up for Saturday's tourney at the Legends of Indiana Course by getting a victory over visiting Rockville and Riverton Parke on Thursday evening.
The Knights got a team score of 174 from their top four JV golfers to edge out Rockville's varsity by six strokes. Riverton Parke finished with a 208.
"It's good to get the JV guys some experience," said coach Scott Buell. "A win is a win, but I know we can play better than we did today. We've been playing better in practice."
The Knights were led by Clint Grey who shot a round of 42, Jeremy Johnson had a 43 with Byron Felchlia at 44 and Pat Czizek rounding out the team scoring for the Knights at 45.
Matt Williams added a 46 and Matt Thompson had a 49 for the Knights.
Rockville was paced by Matt Overpeck and Adam Powell who each had a 44. The Panthers were led by Tyler Cogie with a 47.
Buell believes Saturday's trip to Franklin for the Legends Tourney, annually one of the top early season tourney's for teams, will give his squad a good test.
"Saturday is a pretty big deal," mentioned Buell of the tourney. "Some of the best teams in the state will be there and it gives us an opportunity to see where we're at so far."
