Northview hopes that Saturday's round of golf at the Legends of Indiana Course at Franklin is not their only trip this season.
The course will play host to the state finals again this year on June 12-13.
In the team's first look at the course this year, Northview put together a solid 12th place round as a team in a strong 21 team field that featured many of the state's top ranked squads.
"This was a good experience," commented coach Scott Buell of playing in the tourney. "We had several players who had good rounds going but struggled a little bit late, but for playing on the course where the state finals will be, this was a pretty good day."
Freshman Austin Akers led the team with his round of 79 followed by senior Adam Thiemann at 80. Kyle Kumpf contributed an 83 and another freshman, Kade Baker, shot a round of 85 with Josh Conway carding a 97.
Evansville Central was the team winner, shooting a score of 306 to beat Center Grove by a stroke. Northview shot a 327 with Linton carding a 325 for 10th place.
Northview will travel to Cloverdale tonight for a 4:30 p.m. dual match.
