Under perfect conditions, Northview's softball team remained unbeaten in the Western Indiana Conference with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Brown County on Saturday.
The opener saw both squads' offense held in check for much of the game, before each exploded in the fifth inning. But it was the Knights who got more bang out of their bats, responding to a four run top of the fifth by the Eagles by hammering out six of their own for a 7-4 victory.
Kayla Glassburn tripled for the Knights and Kyler Clark added a double in the win.
Katie Smith started on the mound for Northview before being relieved by Stephanie Jonson who would get the victory.
The first game warmup for Jonson led to a start in the afternoon game where she earned her fifth win of the season.
The Northview bats opened up for 12 hits in the second game after being held to just four in the opener.
Glassburn had two hits in five trips to the plate and Traci Sanders contributed two hits, including a double and Jonson helped her own cause by doubling as part of a two hit effort.
Again the fifth inning was the big one for the Knights, scoring four times to open up a 7-2 lead on the way to a 9-4 victory.
The Knights (6-1 overall, 3-0 WIC) will host South Vermillion on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
