Samantha Solomon unleashed the shot on Tuesday versus St. Patrick's. She would win the event.
North Clay won their second girls track meet of the season by powering their way over visiting St. Patrick's on Tuesday evening, 90-19.
The throwing events got the Knights off to a strong start as Samantha Solomon was a winner in both the shot and discus events with teammate Katherine McDonald second in the discus and third in the shot. Caitlyn Beil was third in the discus.
Continuing their strong early season in the field events, Jaclyn Linton was the winner in the long jump with Raven Enders in second and Lindsay Woodcox completing the sweep for the Knights. Annie Smiley took second in the high jump and Ashley Roll was third.
Sixth grader Alyssa Conrad has gotten her junior high track career off to a strong start, winning the 3,200 on Tuesday followed by teammate Hallie Harbison in third place.
Smiley took her field event success and moved it to the track for an exciting victory in the 100 meters with Brittney Schlegel hot on her heels for second spot. Smiley also won the 100 hurdles, taking two seconds off her best previous time in the event, finishing in 18.02. Hannah Pond was third in the event.
Conrad was also a winner in the 1,600 meters for the victorious Knights with Corey Laue crossing the line in second place. Carlee Bell took the top spot in the 400 meters with a strong time of 1:04 followed by Enders and Jenny Junker to sweep the event.
Emily Phillips led another North Clay sweep in the 200 meters, winning in 29.4 followed by Linton and Shelby Sands. Laue returned to take home the 800 meter victory with Ali Sharton in third place.
North Clay also won both relay events with the 400 meter crew of Pond, Sands, Bell and Phillips winning. Bell and Phillips teamed with Enders and Laue to win the 1,600 event.

North Clay 47, Brown County 44, Owen Valley 43
North Clay opened their season with a narrow, three point win against Brown County in girls track action. Owen Valley was a close third with 43 points.
Samantha Solomon was the winner in the shotput and runnerup in the discus with Katherine McDonald in fourth in the discus event.
Seventh grader Raven Enders was third in the long jump with teammate Annie Smiley winning the high jump with a leap of 4-4. Eighth grader Ashlee Roll was third in the event, tying for second and losing a jump off.
The victorious 400 relay squad consisted of Hannah Pond, Shelby Sands, Carlee Bell and Emily Phillips and Bell, Enders, Phillips and Jennifer Junker teamed to finish second in the 1,600 relay.
Annie Smiley was the winner in both the 100 meters and 100 hurdles and Alyssa Conrad won the 1,600 followed by Corey Laue who was fourth in the 800. Enders placed third in the 400 meters.
