Northview tennis team corrals Mustangs in road victory

The Northview tennis team picked up a road sweep over Edgewood in WIC action Thursday evening.

The Knights got a healthy Heather Palmer back at No. 1 singles and she shutout Erika McGlone by a 6-0, 6-0 score and No. 2 player Madason Stevenson continued playing well by handling Ashley Meek, 6-0, 6-1. Sarah Cox completed the singles sweep at No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Emily O'Malley.

In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Kristen Hauser and Ramey Hayes won without losing a game, 6-0, 6-0 as did Kellsy Maurer and Jazmine Kellum at No. 2 doubles.

The JV squad won 8-2 against Edgewood on Thursday night.

Winning in singles were Abby Smith and Chelsea Mershon while the team of Kayla Cooper and Allie Melega won at No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 team of Bonnie Froderman and Ali Rentschler were also winners.

The Knights will host their own invitational with Linton Stockton, Greencastle and North Montgomery.
