Austin Akers shot a round of 39 for the Knights in Thursday's victory.

The Northview golf team handed WIC foe South Vermillion their first dual match loss of the season on Thursday evening, shooting a 149 to the Wildcats' 154.

The Knights got a round of 36 from Matt Williams, the top score on the team for the nine hole match at Forest Park.

"I was proud of Matt's round tonight," said coach Scott Buell. "It was some really good score and he played some solid golf."

The Knights also got rounds of 37 from Kade Baker and Kyle Kumpf with both Adam Thiemann and Austin Akers shooting 39. Byron Felchlia and Josh Conway each carded a 40.

"This was a good solid win for us against a key opponent in the WIC next week," commented Buell.

Dexter Dunham was the medalist with a 35 for the Wildcats.

The victory improves Northview to 7-3 in dual matches and they will host Greencastle on Monday.
