Kellsy Maurer and teammate Jazmine Kellum didn't lose a game in No. 2 doubles Thursday.

Northview opened play in sectional action with a convincing win over Owen Valley on Thursday evening in a match played indoors at DePauw due to weather considerations.

The Knights' got a 6-0, 6-0 sweep by No. 1 singles player Heather Palmer while the No. 2 doubles tandem of Kellsy Maurer and Jazmine Kellum did the same to Beth Booher and Lexi Carmichael.

Madason Stevenson cruised to a solid win at No. 2 singles to earn a 6-1, 6-2 victory versus Kaytlin Miller and at No. 3 singles, Sarah Cox rallied from losing the first set, to take the remaining two, 6-0, 6-3 for the victory.

In No. 1 doubles play, Kristen Hauser and Ramey Hayes swept past Emily Schenck and Stephanie Stutsman 6-3, 6-2.

With the victory, the Knights will take on South Putnam beginning at 6 p.m. at Northview High School.
