Knights remain unbeaten at Rea Park

TERRE HAUTE -- The Northview girls golf team kept plugging along leading up the official beginning of the school year, improving to an unblemished 4-0 in dual matches after beating Terre Haute South on Tuesday night.

The Knights got a stellar round from Madison Kirchner, who shot a nine hole score of 37 that included three birdies, just 11 putts and a couple of chip-ins.

Her score helped lead the Knights to a score of 168 to best the Braves round of 182.

Northview also got a 41 from senior Millie Akers and a 44 from Mary Beth Tribble with Kayla Cooper's 46 rounding out the scoring for the Knights at Rea Park.

Sloan Engle led the Braves with her 43 followed by a 45 from Bree Opremchek and a pair of 47's from Lindsay Chapman and Kelsey Fuqua.

Other scores for the Knights include a 53 for Savannah Pursell, Olivia Oehler's 55, a 57 for Mandy Thombleson, Emily Gottsche scored a 62, Ali Trout had a 65, Sunny Shaw had a 66 and Carlee Coughanowr had a 67.

The Knights will travel to Hulman Links to face Terre Haute North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
