Knights keep winning; Miners shock Eels

Northview's volleyball team remained perfect on the season by picking up their ninth win against no losses on Tuesday night.

The Knights handled host White River Valley in three straight games, 25-9, 25-12 and 25-10.

Katie Timberman had four blocks in the game while Kaley Huffman added six kills and nine digs. Brianne Arvin contributed five kills for the Knights and Lindsay Thomas set up 19 assists for the team.

The Knights will face off with Linton this evening beginning at 6 p.m. for the JV.

Clay City volleyball

The Linton Miners handed Clay City their first volleyball defeat on Tuesday night, pinning a 19-25, 16-25, 25-19, 20-25 loss on the Eels.

Ashley McCullough led the Eels with 18 kills and eight blocks while Sarah Kennedy had five kills and four blocks. Kelly McCullough added three kills with Angie Camp chipping in with two.

Courtney Dayhuff spread out 18 assists and Chelsee Gerber added 11 more in the loss.

Clay City (5-1, 1-1 TRC, 1-1 SWIAC) will host Owen Valley tonight beginning at 6 p.m. with the JV match.
