Knights squeeze past Miners

The Northview tennis team dropped their top two matches in singles play, but their doubles squads and No. 3 singles player Garrett Turpin rallied the Knights to a 3-2 win against Linton on Wednesday.

Turpin defeated Bryan Roberts by a lopsided 6-0, 6-1 count as did the No. 1 doubles team of Jeremy Johnson and Matt Nodley who defeated Kolin Kramer and Jack Busenburg.

The No. 2 doubles team of Clint Grey and Ryne Barr downed George Fritch and Chase Rhoten by a 6-3, 6-1 score for the victory.

In singles play, Alex Smith lost a 2-6, 4-6 decision and Austin Akers dropped a 1-6, 2-6 match.

Next up for the Knights is a match at home versus Greencastle on September 5.
