Mary K. Coble, 90, of Brazil, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at 3:15 a.m. at her residence.
She was born Dec. 21, 1912, in Clay County. She was the daughter of William Taggart and Elizabeth Hoffman Taggart. She graduated from Cory High School.
She married Lester Coble, who passed away in 1994.
She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Methodist Church and of the Van Cleve Home Ec Club for over 50 years. She enjoyed quilting and working on the family farm.
She is survived by her sister, Bernice Steuerwald; two sisters-in-law, Maxine Taggart of Columbus, Ind., and Faye Taggart of Prairieton, Ind.; eight nephews and three nieces, Richard Morley, Jim Morley, Don Latham, Joe Latham, Bill Taggart, Bob Steuerwald, J.P. Coble, Gene Hopkins, Kay Seymour, Phyllis Neiswender and Karen Sauer; several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews and other extended family.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Carl Taggart, Fred Taggart, George Taggart and Claude Taggart, and four sisters, Ann Latham, Alpha Hopkins, Elizabeth Delaney and Merle Morley.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at French Funeral Home, with the Revs. Marcia Carpenter and Max Brunton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and again Friday prior to services.
