Margaret Acree, 95, of Brazil, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at 3:08 a.m. at Cloverleaf Healthcare Center.
She was born July 18, 1907, to August F. Keiser and Mearl E. Hauck Keiser in Poland.
In 1930, she was united in marriage to Albert J. Acree who preceded her in death in 1978.
She was a graduate of Brazil High School, Class of 1926, and of Brazil Business College.
She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Brazil where she served as its first secretary in 1928. She was also a charter member of the church's caring ministry program.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Everett Keiser.
Survivors include one son, Gary Acree and wife Susan of Terre Haute; two granddaughters, Lindsay Acree of Evergreen, Colo., and Lacey Acree of Terre Haute; two stepgrandchildren, Angela Snider and Mark Ward of Terre Haute and a stepgreat-grandchild; two nephews, Gene Paitson of Terre Haute and Steve Keiser of Maryville, Tenn., and three nieces, Roberta Harrison of Terre Haute, Betsy Short of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Betty Cotterman of Sarasota, Fla.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at French Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Alstott officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again Tuesday prior to services.
