D. Wayne Roach, 84, of Greencastle, passed away Saturday evening, May 10, 2003, at the Hickory Creek at Sunset Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 25, 1918 in Parke County. He was the son of David and May Henry Roach. In 1938, he married Lula Sigler and she preceded him in death Aug. 1, 1986.
He was in the timber business, buying and selling timber. He was the owner and operator of Wayne Roach Timber Company.
He also spent many years raising and working with Belgian Horses.
Survivors include two daughters, Neva Vermillion of Greencastle and Linda Reeves and husband Charles of Lafayette; one stepdaughter, Florence Morgan of Arcadia, Ind.; one brother, Wiley Preston Roach of Greencastle; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a stepgrandchild, Randy Reeves.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Rev. Thordarson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Clinton Falls Cemetery.
