Leone M. Terhune, 86, of Brazil, formerly of Indianapolis and Greene County, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Cloverleaf Healthcare of Knightsville. She had been a patient there since being injured after falling in December 2001.
She was born in Switz City on Sept. 17, 1916, the daughter of John B. Hancock and Lillian Groomer Hancock. She was a graduate of Switz City High School.
She lived most of her life in Indianapolis, where she completed beautician's school. She operated a hair styling salon in the same location as her husband's barber shop. She had also been a sales clerk for Rost Jewelry in Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Terhune, who died in 1975, and one brother, Mervin Hancock.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane L. Elliot, Brazil, and Judy Upton, Laguna Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Juanita Record, Louisville, Ky., and Geneva Ryan, Laguna Hills, Calif.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Private entombment will be Tuesday afternoon at the Washington Park North Mausoleum in Indianapolis. Miller Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
