Janet A. Thompson, 61, of Brazil, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at her brother's home in Sullivan.
She was born Aug. 11, 1941, in Sullivan, the daughter of Howard and Gretchen Boes, who have preceded her in death.
She ws a graduate of Graysville High School. She married Jerry L. Thompson on April 19, 1968, in Center Point. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1994.
She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Clay County Emergency Food Pantry in Brazil.
Surviving are two sons, Brian L. Thompson, Bloomington, and Daniel A. Thompson, Brazil; one daughter-in-love, Shanon Thompson Stewart of Sullivan; three grandchildren, Ashton J.L. Thompson and Maxwell J.L. Thompson of Sullivan and Karah M. Atkinson of Brazil; and three brothers, Gene Boes and wife Wanda of Carlisle, Jim Boes and wife Arlene of Sullivan and Keith Boes and wife Artie of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Sampson officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Cemetery, Brazil. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
