Helen Elaine James, 79, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.
She was born on May 18, 1924, to Homer and Alberta Kemp, who preceded her in death.
She worked for Roots/L.S. Ayers before retiring in 1999.
She loved music and traveling and was an active member of the Northview Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Brazil.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Fred Kemp, and one son, Rick James, in 2002.
Survivors include two daughters, Susanna James and Joanna Cundiff and husband John; two sons, Jonathan James and wife Connie and David James and wife Marilyn; ten grandchildren, Aaron, Scott, Bill, Josh, Justin, Levi, Alison, Jon Paul, Autumn and Ian; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Arnold and husband Forrest, Ray Kemp and wife Joyce and Marjorie Kearschner; special in-laws, Anna and Mel James and Earlene James; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with Bro. Brian Hobbs officiating.
