Wesley D. Vanatti, 52, of Brazil, died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003, at his home following an extended illness since August, 2002.
Born in Brazil on Nov. 16, 1950, he was a son of John and Thelma Giltz Vanatti and a graduate of Brazil High School.
He had been employed at Bemis Bag Corp., Terre Haute, for 23 years.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the American Legion, Riley Post 328 and was affiliated with the Harley Owners Group of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois Staggs.
Survivors include his wife, Tina M. Jeffrey Vanatti, whom he married Sept. 1, 1979; two sons, Tom and Brent Vanatti, both of Brazil; three sisters, Patricia A. Youngblood, Brazil; Marilyn Hook and husband, Jerry, of Arvin, Texas; Mary Harmon and husband Bob, Greencastle; three brothers, John Vanatti and wife, Linda, of Terre Haute, Chet Vanatti and wife, Karen, and Charlie Vanatti, all of Brazil; four sisters-in-law, Pam Martin, Rose Cox and husband, John, Metta Meffrey, Sheila Coleman and husband, Mike, all of Terre Haute; three brothers-in-law, Tommy Jeffrey, Robert Jeffrey and Troy Jeffrey and wife, Anna, all of Terre Haute; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Miller Memorial Chapel with Bro. Richard Piatt officiating and interment in Bee Ridge Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Riley American Legion Post. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Satrurday until services.
Casket bearers will be his two sons and Larry Martin, Ken and John Vanatti and Jack Roach.
