Geneva M. Wiley, 83, of Brazil died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at 4 p.m. at her residence at Jackson Gardens, after battling cancer for the past year.
She was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Clay County, the daughter of Clem and Evelyn Early Wolfangle.
She graduated from Valley High School in West Terre Haute. She worked at Miller & Parott Baker and US Baking for a combined 10 years.
She was married to David E. Wiley for 34 years. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She was a member of the Maple Grove Church and she loved the animals.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Milton Wolfangle, killed in WW II, and a half-sister, Mary Helen Hensley.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Delbert Ridener of Brazil; one son, Jim Gilmour of Manzanola, Colo.; four grandsons, Jim Gilmour of Littleton, Colo., Joshua and Jonathan Gilmour of Manzanola and Pat Ridener of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Ridener, Abby and Alex Gilmour; one sister, Ruth Eley of Terre Haute; a special friend, Jean Howard; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Graveside services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Summit Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Chester Hapenny officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at French Funeral Home. Light a candle in her memory at www.frenchfuneralhome.com.
