Margaret J. "Peggy" Stewart, 77 of Brazil died June 28, 2003 at 5:38 p.m. at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born October 23, 1925 in Jasonville, IN. the daughter of John "Jack" Russell and Frances Hadley Russell. She graduated from Jasonville High School. December 21, 1947 she married Willis Stewart, he survives.
She was the secretary for Stewart Glass and Car Wash for several years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and assisted with the beginning of Cornerstone Christian Academy. She enjoyed the Sunday concerts at the Band Shell in Forest Park and all the park activities. She and her husband were known for their Christmas Decorations every year and she loved their colorful flower garden in the summer.
She is survived by her husband Willis Stewart if Brazil; their children, Steven Stewart and Gary Stewart and his wife Renee all of Brazil; granddaughter Ashley Stewart and fiancee Ronald Bohannon, and great-grandchild, Reagann Bohannon all of Brazil; one sister Jackie Stultz and husband Jack of Fortville, IN; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at French Funeral Home with Brother Greg Comp officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Mr. Steve McCullough. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8pm and again Wednesday prior to services. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Clay Community Foundation, Forest Park Donations. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
