Marilyn L. McCullough, 70, a lifelong resident of Brazil, died in her sleep today, July 1, 2003, at 3:40 a.m. at the Southwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute, where she resided the last few months due to an extended illness.

She was born Nov. 2, 1934, to Lois and Earl Cox. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1952. On Nov. 26, 1952, she married Dale H. McCullough.

She was head cashier for the Kroger Company in Brazil, from where she retired after 25 years of service in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Tom and Ronnie, and a son-in-law, Dean Downs.

She is survived by four children, Thomas Dale of Terre Haute, Kristy Susan Downs of Clinton, Dennis Ray and Sharon of Brazil and Kelly Jo Lynn Sullivan of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Suzanne and Curt Pennington, Matthew and April Downs, Dustin McCullough, Kylie Sullivan and Tyler Sullivan; one great-grandchild, Emma Deanne Pennington; one brother, Terry Cox; two sisters, Sheryl and David Snow and Sandra Ashby; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Coombes officiating . Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
