Carolyn Neese, 62, Knightsville, was pronounced dead in the emergency room of St. Vincent Clay Hospital Sunday, June 29, 2003, after the car she was driving veered off the Harmony Road and struck a tree. The Clay County Coroner is investigating the accident.
Born in Knightsville on Sept. 15, 1940, she was the daughter of Loy E. Thomas and the late Marie Vandever Thomas who died on April 2, 2003.
She had resided in Knightsville all her life and graduated from Van Buren High School.
For 10 years she was a packager at Columbia Records in Terre Haute. For many years she was a member of the original Knightsville Church of Christ, and currently was attending McKinley Hill Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband, Ron, whom she married Nov. 28, 1969; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Chris Carter of Brazil; her father, of Knightsville; six sisters-in-law: Mary Spelbring, Poland; Marilyn Carter, Indianapolis; Frances Neese, Brazil; Geneva Eggers, Plainfield; Marlene Rogers and husband Ronald, Knightsville; Betty Konrad and husband Carl, Portland, Ore.; two brothers-in-law: Roy Neese, Cloverdale; Clyde Neese, Knightsville and many cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Miller Memorial Chapel. Bro. Rick Thomas and Bro. Kenneth Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
