A graveside memorial service for Kathryn Campbell Lawson George, who died Jan. 15, 2003, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Summit Lawn Cemetery.

She was a 1942 graduate of the Union Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing career included employment at Union Hospital, working as an office nurse for Dr. John Palm in Brazil and for Dr. Noel McBride in Terre Haute, and serving as the Director of Nursing for Shady Creek Nursing Home in Greencastle untill her retirement in 1989.

She was a 50-year member of the Center Point Chapter 261 Order of the Eastern Star. She was an active member of the Business and Professional Womens Club and the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Lawson; two sisters, Mary Zurcher and Barbara Miller, and one brother, Jack Campbell.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne George of Indianapolis; two sons, Major Jerry Lawson of Germany and Dennis Lawson of Indianapolis; three stepsons, David George of Indianapolis, Brian George of Dallas, Texas, and Paul George of Indianapolis; one daughter, Nancy Lawson of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren and other extended family members.
