Clarence R. McCullough, 84, of Lewis died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute.
He was born Sept. 27, 1918, in Hymera, Ind. He was the son of Alvin V. and Josephine Crable McCullough who have preceded him in death.
He graduated from Coalmont High School in 1936. On June 30, 1938, he married Eleanor R. Nicoson, who survives.
A Navy Veteran of WWII, he has a farmer and also retired from Amax Coal in 1988. He was a former Clay County Councilman and former superintendent of Briley Chapel Church.
Surviving are: his wife of 65 years, Eleanor; three sons, Don McCullough of Lewis; Kenneth "Dick" McCullough of Dallas, Texas, Dan McCullough and wife Laura of Dallas, one sister, Betty Strahla and husband Arthur of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Clay City, Ind., with the Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Burial will be in McCullough Zion Cemetery at Cory. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Sunday.
