Wilma L. Boyce, 87, of Brazil, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Born March 30, 1916, in Moultrie County, Ill., she was the daughter of Oscar and Vernia Ingles Navel who are deceased.

She grew up in Center Point and moved to Brazil on East Vermont Street about 1961 where she lived for 40 years. She resided at Jackson Gardens the past two years.

On Aug. 9, 1933, she married Herbert G. Boyce who died on Nov. 10, 1998.

A member of the former Forest Avenue Methodist Church until it closed, she attended the Community Missionary Church.

A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing and singing in the church choir.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold F. Navel Sr., Carl W. Navel and Otis Navel.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Susan Patterson of Poland.

Services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home, with Pastor Tony Alstott officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until services. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery.
