Larry N. Giltz, 62, of Eastlake, Mich., died early Monday morning, July 14, 2003, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 9, 1941, in Poland, the son of the late Paul and Fern Boyce Giltz. He was a graduate of Brazil High School.

He served in the United States Air Force from January 1960 to January 1964. He married Alice Nahgahgwon on July 22, 1961, at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Michigan.

He was a maintenance supervisor for the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians at the Little River/National City Bank building in downtown Manistee. He was a member of the Moose Lodge LOOM No. 1128 and enjoyed softball, hunting, fishing and camping.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Cook.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Tonia M. and Robb Klein of Minot, N.D., and Kimberly L. and David Kendall of Tawas City, Mich.; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony A. and Dawn Giltz of Wausau, Wisc.; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Alexander and Ashley Klein, Shannon Kendall and Jonathan, Alicia and Alexander Giltz, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dina Hackert officiating. the family will be present at the funeral home Wednesday to receive friends from noon until the time of service. Cremation has taken place.

The family has requested that those wishing to remember him consider the memorial established in his name for Munson Home Health Care. Envelopes will be available at the funeral arrangements.
