Mae M. Archer, 77, of Terre Haute, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Southwood Health Facility at 6 p.m.

Born Nov. 15, 1925, in Bedford, Ind., she was the daughter of Henry and Annis Chambers Reuben.

Raised in Brazil, she graduated from Brazil High School, Class of 1943.

She married John Archer on Nov. 23, 1943, and he survives.

Memberships included the Home Ec Club in Terre Haute. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and canning and fishing. She was devoted to her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and two daughters, John David Archer, Linda Kay Hallmark and Curtis Ray Archer, all of Terre Haute, and Janet Marie Hallmark of Beecher City, Ill.; six grandchildren, Helen Marie Stadler, David Archer, Derek Archer, Blaine Hallmark, Christie Hallmark and Shannon Hallmark; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James Davis and Bill Davis.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Alstott officiating. Music selections will be provided by Steve McCullough. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
