Robert G. Carter, 87, of Cloverdale, Ind., died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center.
He was retired from Employer's Group Insurance Co., Indianapolis.
Memberships included Annunciation Catholic Church, Brazil and Catholic Order of Foresters - 60-year member.
Born Feb. 22, 1916, at Indianapolis, he was the son of Orville Owen and Bertha Ballman Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wives, Mary Evelyn Leimgruber Carter, Irene Ellen Miller Carter and Margaret Brannerman Carter.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Evelyn Sitzman, Indianapolis, Genevieve L. Short, Poland, and Nancy Glavatz, Indianapolis; two sons, Robert G. Carter Jr. and Joseph C. Carter, both of Brownsburg, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at St. Theres of the Infant Jesus-Little Flower Catholic Church, Indianapolis, with Father Robert J. Gilday officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Indianapolis.
