James Latham , 69, of Harmony, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at 1:21 a.m. in Union Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Bartholomew County, Ind., on June 24, 1934, he was the son of Morris C. and Hazel Hoskins Latham. He married Eva Hadley on June 24, 1954. She survives.
A graduate of Van Buren High School Class of 1953, he worked for Pillsbury until retirement.
He was a member of Harmony Methodist Church and enjoyed taking pictures and constructing remote control airplanes. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife Eva, of Harmony; his mother, Hazel Hoskins Draper; his stepmother Lillian Latham of Texas; a daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Joe Yockey of Clay City; a son and daughter-in-law Larry and Jennifer Latham of Brazil; three grandchildren Brandi Hoopingarner and husband Billy, Crystal Cox and Jacob Latham; a great-granddaughter Callie Hoopingarner; three sisters Jeanne Brown and husband Bob of Hartford City, Ind., Betty Smith and husband Dick of North Carolina and Patty Lahmann and husband Leonard of Texas; a brother, Bob Latham and wife Lois of Texas; three sisters-in-law and their spouses, Pat and Dale Dickison, Ruby and Jim Crouse, Mary and Jim Girton; a brother-in-law Gib and Joyce Hadley.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at French Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Kumpf officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Steve McCullough. Burial will be in Calcutta Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
