John W. Elliott, 76, of Brazil died Aug. 6, 2003, in Meadows Manor East.
Born Aug. 7, 1926, in Clay County, he was the son of Virginia Rose and Thomas Elliott.
He worked at Arketex for 26 years, South Putnam High School and retired from IBM in Greencastle, Ind.
He enjoyed farming, helping at Jonah Fish Frys, playing cards and anything to do with horses and ponies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a son, John Elliott of Brazil; four daughters, Joani Lanham (Gibby) of Brazil, Joyce Fatch (Brian) of Brazil, Janet Bridgewater (John) of Harmony and Jennifer Barr (Brent) of Noblesville, Ind.; 16 grandchildren, Christy Pickett, Jamie Head, Renee Snow, Brandon Fatch, Steven Snow, Kurtis Fatch, Jeni Bridgewater, Tanner Barr, Caitlyn Elliott, Hunter Barr, Kody Fatch, Caleb Elliott, Nikki Deckard, Nat Taylor and Erika Barr; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in Harmony Methodist Church with a fellowship to follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendly Benwood Community Christian Youth Camp or the support account for Brandon Fatch to return to Spain with International Link Mission 2004, c/o Harmony United Methodist Church, P.O.
