Donald Ray Garrison Jr., 49, of Brazil died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at his parents' residence in Staunton following an extensive battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 25, 1953, in an Air Force hospital in England, he was the son of Donald Garrison Sr. and Carolyn Lett Garrison.
He worked as an account manager for Meco Corp. in Paris, Ill. He had also worked for Britt Tool and great Dane.
A 1971 graduate of Staunton High School, he attended Miami University, DePauw University and Indiana University on an Air Force ROTC scholarship. He graduated from Indiana State University.
A sports enthusiast, he participated as a sponsor, coach and player in softball, bowling and golf.
Survivors include his parents, a loving extended family including an aunt, Phyllis and husband Gary Shulder of Pueblo, Colo., uncle Billy Gene Garrison of Georgetown, Texas, an aunt Betty Robison and husband Jim, uncles Charles DeHart and Ronald DeHart all of Maryland.
Services will be conducted Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Friench Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Alstott officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today and tuesday prior to services. At his request, cremation will take place.
