Cora A. Ritchey, 88, a resident of Rosedale for the past 13 years, died at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at West Central Community Hospital in Clinton.
Born on Dept. 12, 1914, in Owen County, she was the daughter of William F. and Celia Rawley Burger who have preceded her in death.
In May, 1932, she married Harold Ritchey, who died July 14, 1989.
Cora and her husband lived in Detroit, Mich., for 40 years and in 1976 they moved to Jasonville where they resided for 14 years. In 1990 she moved to Rosedale.
She was a homemaker and as a child, she attended St. Peter's Evangelical Reformed Church. She enjoyed playing cards and attending social events at the Rosedale Civic Center.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Herman Burger; two stepbrothers, Clarence and Glenn Burger; four sisters, Emma Loriaux, Lina Dees, Leslie Phelps and Esther Simon.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Clay City, with the Rev. Anthony Ferriell officiating. Burial will be in Beech Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
