Mary R. Knust Wells, 51, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at 8:50 p.m. at Methodist Hospital due to complication of an aneurysm.
She was born Sept. 25, 1951, to Robert E. and Joyce A. Bell. She was active in the Sunday Night Mix League and served as president for many years. She graduated from Staunton High School in 1969.
Survivors include her husband, Harry L. Wells of Cory; son, Michael R. Knust and wife Vicki of Cory; daughters, Michelle "Missy" Bridgewater and husband Bob of Cory and Mary Jo Royer and husband Mike of Sullivan; sister, Linda Gee and husband Glenn of Terre Haute; aunts, Betty Hausman of Indianapolis and Mary Lou Lucas of Brazil; grandchildren, Travis and Tyler Bridgewater of Cory, Justine Farris and Tanner Knust of Cory and Emma Royer of Sullivan; stepchildren, Thomas Wells of Brazil and Tuesday Harrison of Clay City; stepgrandchildren, Brocton Wells of Brazil, Kaitlyn Harrison and Madison Harrison of Clay City; niece, Lee Ann Gee of St. Maarten; nephew, Larry Gee and wife Amy of Greenwood; cousin, Carol Vance and husband Mike of Brazil; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Sneddon and husband Jim of Georgia and Sherry and husband Bob Lybarger of Lizton, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joe Knust; and a special cousin, Billy Hausman.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the French Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Goss officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Larry Gee, Mike Vance, Dean Young, Rob Rood, Mike Hay, Earl Batchelor, Alan Holmes and Jason Sinders. Burial will follow at Ashboro Cemetery.
