Austin Kyle Drake, 19, of Center Point, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at 3:30 a.m. at his residence. He had been battling a brain tumor for the past six years.
He was born Feb. 8, 1984, in Terre Haute, the son of Terry and Melody Brush Drake. He graduated from Calvary Christian School in Linton in 2003.
He was a member of the Maryland Community Church and served on the prayer team. He was a recipient of many blessings through the Make a Wish Foundation. He was a sports enthusiast; he especially enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers.
He is survived by his parents of Center Point; his sister, Alisha Drake at home; grandparents, Carolyn and Bob McCauley and Bill and Maria Brush, all of Terre Haute; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Virgil and Ramona Drake.
A celebration of Kyle's life will be Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Maryland Community Church in the Atrium. Private family graveside services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Terre Haute with Pastor Vince McFarland officiating.
