Zella L. Harden, 91, of Clinton, Ind., died at 12:02 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at the Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton.
She was a long-time resident of Saline City, moving to Clinton in 1999.
Born July 6, 1912, in Dick Johnson Township, she was the daughter of Franz and Elva Dial Turner. She married Cleo F. Harden on Nov. 26, 1930, in Saline City. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1988.
She operated a beauty shop out of her home in Saline City for 50 years, retiring in 1992. She attended the Saline City Church.
She was a 50-year member of the Center Point Order of the Eastern Star 261, a 50-year member of the Martha Rebecca Lodge IOOF of Cory. She was also a member of Shamrock Home Ec Club, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Clay City and the Ladies Aide Society of the Saline City Church.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Bill Turner; and two sisters, Doris Quant and Louise Kidwell.
Survivors include a daughter, Bernita Anderson and fiancee, Missy Gardner, of Rosedale; two great-granddaughters, Erika and Ashley Anderson of Clinton; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Harden of Saline City and Lelia Turner of Brazil; and several other extended family members.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home, Brazil, and from 10 a.m. to time of service on Saturday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Chester Hapenny officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Riley, Ind.
Center Point Order of the Eastern Star 261 will have services on Friday at 7 p.m.
