Edna L. Smith, 76, of Brazil, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at 3:19 p.m. in Union Hospital.
Born July 19, 1927, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Ren and Fay Glitz McCullough.
She graduated from Reelsville High School. On Oct. 15, 1949, she married Arthur Smith. He preceded her in death May 8, 2001.
She had worked for G.C. Murphy and the Wind Breaker factory. She later worked at the Brazil IGA bakery and retired from the housekeeping department of Clay County Hospital.
She and her husband, Arthur, owned and operated a family farm. They enjoyed camping and traveling to Florida. She was an excellent cook and homemaker.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Jeannie Smith and David and Jane Smith, all of Brazil; four grandchildren, Tracy Smith, Amy Smith Jackson and husband Scott, Derrick Smith and James Brown; a great-granddaughter, Madison Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Bonnie McCullough of Cloverdale; a sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Dewayne Query of Putnam County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Edgar McCullough.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in French Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall Hendrix officiating. Burial will be in Bee Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and again Friday prior to services.
