Ralph Irwin Rogers Sr., 68, of Greencastle, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Putnam County, Ind., the son of Arthur and Mary Louise Higgins Rogers.

He served a 4-year term in the Army National Guard. He was employed with Lonestar Industries in Greencastle for 42 years, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the Boilermakers Union and the Moose Lodge No. 1592, Greencastle.

Survivors include his daughters, Norma L. Stevens and Arnold Bird of Arizona and Debra Lynn Alexander and husband Jim of Greencastle; a son, Ralph Irwin Rogers Jr. and wife Sherry of Brazil; three brothers, Roy Rogers and wife Patsy Ellen of Greencastle, Norman Rogers and wife Teresa of Greencastle and Lee Rogers; two sisters, June Warriner and Linda McKenna, both of Florida; his mother, Mary Louise Rogers of Greencastle; companion, Mary A. Bartley; four stepchildren, William Bartley of Greencastle, Brian Bartley and wife Stefanie of Greencastle, Dianna Hayman and husband Dave of Cloverdale and Jimmy Painter of Greencastle; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; two daughters, Theresa Cruce and Marilyn Ann Rogers; a grandson, Richard Lientz; and a sister, Reta Jones.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
