Bettie Mae Phillips, 79, of Greencastle, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at the Waters of Greencastle.

She was born on March 23, 1924, in Brazil, the daughter of Bernie and Louise Brockmeier Sawyer.

In 1960, she married Charles Beuford Phillips. He preceded her in death in 1982.

She was a housewife and a homemaker and a member of the Women of the Moose and the VFW Ladies Auxillary.

Survivors include two sons, Eddie Overshiner of Greencastle and Jack Overshiner and wife, Shelly, of Mt. Meridian; four sisters, Ruth Dellacca of Brazil, Mary Breece of Indianapolis, Daisy Coleman of Terre Haute and Georgia Shutt and husband Frank of Carthage; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces; and nephews.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Friends may call the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
