Bertha M. Reberger, 84, of Brazil, died Oct. 28, 2003, unexpectedly at her residence.

Born March 12, 1919, in Vigo County, she was the daughter of Rufus B. and Mary Elizabeth Harmon.

She graduated from Brazil High School. As a young lady, she traveled to Chicago and worked at the Spiegel Co. She later married B. Frank Reberger, who preceded her in death in 1986.

She worked many years as a bookkeeper for Froderman Chevrolet.

Memberships included the Knightsville Eastern Star and the Thursday Afternoon Club. She enjoyed writing poetry and being a homemaker.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Lynne Reberger; two grandsons, Matthew Thomas Reberger and wife, Beth, and Nathan Reberger; great-grandchildren Denver Reberger and Jesslynne Reberger of Brazil; many nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Lawson-Slack Funeral Home with B. Lee Reberger officiating. Burial wil follow in Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 4-8 p.m. with Eastern Star Services at 7 p.m.
