Franklin Gale Green, 70, of Greencastle, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at the Putnam County Hospital.

Born March 8, 1933, in Clay County, he was the son of Albert and Minerva (Lash) Green. In 1977, he married Virginia Myers Starr and she survives.

He had retired from Lone Star Industries as a welder for more than 30 years and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church (formerly the Limedale Missionary Church Baptist Church).

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cindy Treash and husband, Bruce, of Clay City, Ky., and Crystal Green of Greencastle; a stepdaughter, Karen Wood, and husband, Alva, of Greencastle; three stepsons, Gordon Birt and wife, Shirley, Darryl Starr and friend, Lynette Shotts, and Kevin Starr and wife, Suzy, all of Greencastle; a brother, Rudy Green, and wife, Joan, of Greencastle; three grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren.

His parents, an infant brother and a stepson, Doyne Starr, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Stewart Bennett officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with military rites.
