Nancy Cooper, 62, of Brazil, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2003, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She died unexpected Sunday morning following surgery on Thursday.

Born May 6, 1941, in Parke County, she was the daughter of Herbert J. Walton and Maudie Phelps Walton. She attended Bridgeton High School.

She married Leslie Curtis Cooper on March 24, 1956; he preceded her in death.

She worked at P.R. Mallory, CBS, Bemis and later at Forest Park Elementary School with disabled children. She also worked at Cloverleaf Nursing Home.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeri McCullough-Gooding, and her husband, Bruce, of Avon; a son, Doug Cooper, of Brazil; grandchildren, Haylen Cooper, Patrick Crowell, Heather McCullough and Jared McCullough and his wife, Heather.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son in infancy, Leslie Curtis Jr., who died in 1956; and a son, Jeff Cooper, in 2001.

At her request, cremation will take place and services will be private.

French Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the memorial of their choice.
