Clara Louise Williams, 92, formerly of Jackson Township, Parke County, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville where she had been a resident for over six years.

She was born in Parke County on April 22, 1911, a daughter of Franklin White Murphy and Bertha Olive Lynch Murphy. She was a 1929 graduate of the former Bellmore High School. She married Garland R. Williams on Jun. 10, 1942.

A resident of that area all her life, she had been a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church that was destroyed in a fire.

Preceding her were a son, William D. Williams, in 1981; two sisters, Pauline Summers and Ruth Pittman; and one step-grandchild.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters and three sons and spouses; Clara Lou and Thomas Thompson; James M. York; Warren R. and Peggy Williams, all of Carbon; Sandra E. Williams, Terre Haute; Karen and Sam Passo, Hopkinsville, Ky.; Gary and Jane Williams, Greenwood, Ind.; one sister, Mary Howard, Brazil; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Miller Memorial Chapel. Rev. Bob Kumpf will officiate and interment will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
