Isabel Cox, 82, of Brazil, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Holly Hills Healthcare Facility. She had recently become a resident there.
Born Sept. 21, 1921, in Clay County, she was the daughter of John D. and Eva Webster Lawson.
She graduated from Brazil High School. She married Raymond Cox Jr.; they have celebrated 62 years of marriage.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed playing Bunco and was an avid Pacers and Chicago Bulls fan.
Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Janice Cox, all of Brazil; two granddaughters, Angela Metz and Alison Walton and her husband, Michael; five great-grandchildren, Whitley DeSmith, Brianna Walton, Ethan Walton, Bryce Toppas, Gage Bruer; a sister, Violet Ann Blackford and her husband, Charles; a niece, Tammy Rogers, and her husband, Tim, and their daughter, Kayla Rogers; two nephews, Tom Taylor and Jerry Taylor; a brother-in-law, Albert Taylor, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Peggy Taylor; and a sister in infancy, Virginia Lawson.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Brother Doug Parkey officiating. Burial will be in Bee Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
